 Lesson 1
A. Aims and objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
- Pronounce the sound of the letter N/n in isolation and in the words Nick, 
nuts, noodles, bananas.
- Say the sound of the letter N/n and the words Nick, nuts, noodles, in a chant.
1. Knowledge:
- Sound /N/
- Vocabulary: Nick, nuts, noodles, bananas.
2. Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening)
3. Attitude: Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love learning 
English 
4. Orientation of competence development.
- General competences: communicative, self- studying, problem-solving, and 
cooperative abilities.
- Specific competences: Pronounce the sound of the letter N/ n .
B. Teaching aids:Textbook, recording, puppets, pictures 
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, objects, recording,computer, projector
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
C. Procedures:
1. Class organization: (1’) - Greeting - Checking for the students' attendance.
2. New lesson:

 -Ask pupils to sing the song in Unit 12, - SS sing and do the action.
 Lesson 3 and and clap their hands.
 1. Listen and repeat:10’
 - Have pupils look at the picture and 
 discribe the picture. Draw pupils’ attention 
 to the letter N/ n, the words next to the 
 things in the pictures and the colour of the

 - Ask pupils to point to the letter N/ n. Have 
 them listen and repeat the sound of the letter 
 N/ n. Tell pupils to point to the name of boy 
 and the word Nick. Follow the same

 milk. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. 
 - Play the recording again and have them 
 listen, point to the letter N/ n, the words -Point, listen and repeat.
 Nick, nuts, noodles, bananas and repeat 
 until they feel confident. 
 - Play the recording again and call a few 
 pupils to say the letter N/ n, and the words 
 Nick, nuts, noodles, bananas.milk in front 
 of the class .
 - T checks and corrects. 2. Point and say :7’ -Ss repeat.
- Have pupils look at the picture again and 
describe the picture. Draw their attention to 
the letter: N/ n, the word Nick and the food, 
if necessary.
- Let them point to the banana and say the -SS say in front of the class.

- Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to

- Say the sound of the letter N/n and the words Nick, nuts, noodles, in a 
chant.
- Recognize the words in different situations when listening. 1. Knowledge:
- Sound /n/
- Vocabulary: Nick, nuts, noodles 
- The sentence pattern: He’s having ____.
2. Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening)
3. Attitude: Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love learning 
English 
4. Orientation of competence development.
- General competences: communicative, self- studying, problem-solving, and 
cooperative abilities.
- Specific competences: Speaking and listeing of the letter N/ n .

1. Listen and chant:10’
-Have pupils look at the chant saying Look 
at the chant, please! Draw pupils’ attention 
to the first line and explain its meaning. Ask -SS look and listen.

-Play the recording of the first line for 
pupils to listen and to get familiarized with 
the tune.

- Play the recording again, ask pupils to

pronunciation, if necessary.
 - Play the recording all the way through.

-Have pupils look at the pictures and say what they can see. Draw pupils’ attention to 
the boxes next to the letters a and b. Check 
comprehension.
- Invite some pupils to point to the pictures 
in Question 1 and say the words in front of 
the class, saying Point to the pictures and 
say the words, please! Eg: 1a: noodles, 1b: - SS perform.

- Tell pupils to trace the letter N /n. T can demonstrate by air tracing or tracing the 
broken lines of the letter N /n on the board.
 -Then let pupils do the tracing. Give further 
support to those pupils who find it difficult 
to do the task.
- Check the results of pupils’ tracing and 
give feedback. Ask pupils to work in pairs
